The Beginning
I suppose those reading this have rarely read the Bible in life. You’ve probably heard about it, though, right? You may think the Bible is something difficult or something to stay away from. If so, I’ll do my best to introduce it to you with easy to understand expressions. Especially where the Old Testament is concerned. I’d be pleased to see you reading it little by little in your spare time, and I pray that you’ll be led by the LORD.
What is the Bible?
First of all, what is the Old Testament? In short, this is the Book written about the creation of the world and the Old Covenant the nation of Israel had with God. Among many pagan gods and religions, the Old Testament teaches how God is the God of Israel and of all the world. Oftentimes, many people think the story of the Bible has nothing to do with them. However, this idea is completely not true because the God of Israel also lives in Japan. Therefore, this God is also for us living in Japan.
In addition to the Old Covenant, there is also the New Covenant. This is written about in the New Testament. This New Covenant with God was renewed by the birth, death, and resurrection of J十C (Jesus十Christ). In other words, J十C made the New Covenant with God as a representative of Israel and all the world on our behalf. I’ll write more about the New Testament at a later time. So, please look forward to that time.
Do We Still Need the Old Testament?
I’ve explained that the Old Testament is the Book written about the Old Covenant with the God of Israel. Then, the question is: Do we still need the Old Testament after the New Covenant was made in the New Testament? The answer is … to be continued.
Just for a moment, let’s be quiet and close our eyes. Do you feel anything? Although you may not feel anything yet, probably you’ll feel something holy as you learn the true meaning of the Bible.
